Dr. Liane Comeau

Executive Director, International Union for Health Promotion and Health Education (IUHPE)

Liane Comeau, PhD, brings more than 25 years of experience spanning government, research, and international non-governmental leadership. Since 2018, she has served as Executive Director of the International Union for Health Promotion and Health Education (IUHPE), a global organization dedicated to advancing health equity and reducing inequalities worldwide.

 

Her career has focused on improving the health and wellbeing of children, youth, and families. She has held senior roles with Invest in Kids, a pan-Canadian organization, including Director of Research and Evaluation. Dr. Comeau also served as a Specialized Scientific Advisor at Québec’s national public health institute (Institut national de santé publique du Québec), where she contributed to research and programming focused on prevention and health promotion across the lifespan.

Originally from Atlantic Canada, Dr. Comeau holds a Bachelor’s degree from Université de Moncton and a PhD in Developmental Psychology from McGill University. Her work reflects a deep commitment to community engagement, systems change, and building a culture of wellbeing for current and future generations.
