Promoting Healthy Democracy Needs New Voices

Tuesday, June 24th from 3-4pm EDT (4-5 ADT) #HealthPromoChat
http://en.healthnexus.ca/health_promo_chat

Do you believe in the potential of democracy? Then bring your voice to this Twitter Chat on democracy and social justice in Canada with the Atlantic Summer Institute on Healthy and Safe Communities (ASI). This year’s Summer Institute theme, Renewing Democracy through Social Justice: Adding New Voices, brings attention to inclusion, fair representation and leadership. The ASI coordinator, Patsy Beattie of The Quaich Inc. moderates the #HealthPromoChat raising these questions:

Q1 What is a healthy democracy?
Q2 How do we ensure full participation in democratic processes?
Q3 What is the role of social media in adding new voices?
Q4 How could leadership be more inclusive of gender and diversity?

Engaging men and women, Francophone, Anglophone and Aboriginal communities, the ASI supports collaboration across sectors and regions, and between cultures and generations.
